Explain the difference between Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette

Samantha Taylor, a perfumer, says that the main difference between EDT and EDP has to do with the concentration of the fragrance. Eau de Parfum is a stronger fragrance than Eau de Toilette because the proportion of essential oil in it mixed with alcohol is higher. There may be a slight difference in the smell because this is due to the fact that the oil is less or more In both versions, but in the end it smells the same

In short, a higher concentration of scent means a higher proportion of essential perfume oils and less alcohol.

Types and classifications of perfumes

There are five types of perfume classifications or Fresh, Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, Parfum

Or Fresh is the lightest and most concentrated type of perfume. The proportion of essential oil is from 1 to 3%. Also, the amount of alcohol in it is low, and therefore it is a great choice for owners of sensitive skin.

Eau de Cologne contains an essential oil content of 2 to 4% that fades and smells disappear within one to two hours

Eau de Toilette contains an essential oil content of 5 to 15% and its stability lasts for about 3 hours, which is the most common classification in men's perfumes.

Eau de Parfum contains 15-20% of the essential oil and its stability lasts up to 5 hours. Most women's perfumes fall under this category.

Perfume , also known as pure perfume, is the most concentrated variety that contains 20 to 30 percent of oil and can last from six to eight hours. It is a good option for people with sensitive skin because it has a lower concentration of alcohol so the skin is less prone to dry skin.

Why is the price of EDP versus EDT different?

Since Eau de toilette contains a lower percentage of perfume oils, you will find that its prices are usually lower than the price of Eau de Parfum. Just keep in mind that EDP has a higher concentration, you can use it less, while Eau de Toilette needs more sprays.

How long does the fragrance last?

Various factors determine the duration of the stability of perfumes, the first of which is the concentration of perfumes, as well as the type of skin, as the perfume interacts with it. Is it normal, oily, dry, mixed? The fragrance family plays a big role, for example, a concentration of 10% of oriental oils such as musk, amber and vanilla gives a much better performance than a concentrated oil of 100% of citrus fruits such as bergamot and lemon, which is highly volatile. Also, perfumes interact with the temperature, so some may notice a difference in the performance of the perfume between the summer and the rest of the year, and we do not forget the most important thing is the quality of the clothes.
